1910年に明治政府の外交官・内田定槌邸として、アメリカ人建築家J.M.ガーディナーの設計により東京都渋谷区南平台に建てられたものです。1997年この地に移築され、同時に国の重要文化財に指定されました。
建物は、木造２階建・塔屋付でアメリカン・ヴィクトリアン様式を基本としています。

Designed by American architest J.M.Gardiner, it was built for Sadatsuchi Uchida, a diplomat of Meiji Government, at Nanpeidai in Shibuya Ward of Tokyo.
It was moved to this place and designated as National Important Cultural Property in 1997.
Architecturally, it is a two-story wooden house with a tower designed in the American Victorian style.
