横浜市イギリス館は、英国総領事公邸として1937年に現在地に建てられました。鉄筋コンクリート2階建てで、広い敷地と建物規模をもち、東アジアにある領事公邸の中でも、上位に格付けられていました。
主屋の1階の南側には、西からサンポーチ、客間、食堂が並び、広々としたテラスは芝生の庭につながっています。2階には寝室や化粧室が配置され、広い窓からは庭や港の眺望が楽しめます。玄関脇にはめ込まれた王冠入りの銘版や、正面脇の銅板が、旧英国総領事公邸であった由緒を示しています。
1969年に横浜市が取得し、1階のホールはコンサートに、2階の集会室は会議等に利用されています。また2階の展示室と復元された寝室を一般公開しています。

The Yokohama British House was built in 1937 as the British Consul General official residence in the current location.
It is a two-story reinforced concrete building and the scale of the land and building is large, ranking high among the official consular residences in East Asia.
On the south side of the first floor of the main house, from the west are a sun porch, parlor, dining hall and the spacious terrace leads to the lawn garden.
On the second floor there is a bedroom, powder room and from a large window, you can enjoy the view of the garden and the harbor. The inscription with a crown embedded on the side of the entrance and the copper plate on the side of the facade indicate the distinguished history of the former British Consul General official residence.
It was acquired by Yokohama City in 1969 and the first floor is used for concerts and the assembly room on second floor is used for meetings, etc. Additionally, the exhibition room and bedroom on the second floor have been restored and are open to the public.
